Apple is introducing a “dark mode” in OS X Yosemite that gives users a new way to customize their desktop look and feel.
To change the appearance of your Mac’s windows and dashboard, switching to Dark Mode is a great trick to know. For some, the darker experience is easier on the eyes, especially if you are using the Mac in a poorly lighted room.
The new “Dark Mode” in Yosemite that turns the menu bar, dock and Spotlight black.
Here is is how you enable the “dark mode”:
1. Launch System Preferences from your Applications folder.
2. Click on General in the top-left corner of the preferences pane.
3. Check the box next to “Use dark menu bar and Dock” just below the Appearance option.
